How do I find a First Response course
You can book West Sussex in-person and blended First Response courses on Eventbrite. If you can’t find what you are looking for then please contact the Learning Team.
Some other Counties offer blended learning courses, you can find details from here.
I have completed a First Response course, how can I see that this has been recorded?
Go to My Membership and select Learning. If you have First Response recorded it will show up here with the Expiry Date.
Alternatively, in My Learning choose Wood Badges & Skills and then go to Skills. Search for “First Response” and it will show up, go to Assessment then it tells you your Expiry Date (in the purple bar at the top).
I have an external certificate, what do I do now?
Where a member already holds a first aid qualification, this may be used towards crediting the First Response skill.
A First Response Trainer must review the details of the qualification to make sure it meets the First Response content requirements. They will then identify any ‘knowledge or skills gaps’ and make sure that they are met before confirming the First Response skill can be credited.
Note: The external certificate must meet the criteria outlined in ‘First Aid requirements in Scouting’ (FS120052), which also provides guidance on what qualifies as a ‘Full First Aid Qualification’.
