Alex McGregor's Collection of Scouting Badges
Alex has over 1000 badges in his superb collection
here are just a few of his favourites....

Alex McGregor (Fellowship) 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scouts:

" I started collecting Scout badges when I was a Scout, these were just for my camp blanket. I stopped when I left the Scouts to join the R.A.F. at 16 years of age.

I was Stationed in the New Forest in 1968 when my eldest son Andrew joined the Scouts and I became a leader. I started collecting again but not in a serious way, until I retired from the R.A.F. in 1979 and returned to Lancing and rejoined my old troop as a leader. I also started work at Scout Shops where  a fellow work mate introduced me to "The International Badgers Club"

My Camp fire blanket and the badges shown here are only a selection of the badges in my collection, I have over 1000 badges in my U.K. collection but still need over 450 to complete it. I have a few overseas badges.

The Lancing section of the" I.B.C." meets twice a year in June and October in the District Scout H/Q building in south street. If anyone wishes to join the club let me know and I will pass on the paperwork. Anyone interested in seeing all the U.K. badges can go onto the club web site at " www.intbc.org/ibc/index.php " and double click on "The Original U.K. Virtual Badge Collection". "
